Dinner at the Fraser

This past weekend we went up to Tatamagouche with some good friends to do a catering at a volunteer run art gallery- The Fraser Cultural Centre.
The photos below show some of the yummy food that was cooked by Dan and our friend Emma (although somehow photos of the main course are missing!)

Thanks to all the local suppliers: Ratinaud, That Dutchman, Getaway Farm meat mongers & Local Source

Nova Scotia has the best food and farmers AND good drinks- we served beer from Propeller, Garrison and wines from Grand Pré Vineyards, L’Acadie Vineyards and Blomidon Estate.

Last week/weekend was HPX.
A bunch of friends came to stay with us all weekend and it was ridiculously awesome.

This video below is of my friends band and was shot by Heavy Weather. You should listen to their music, it will probably make you feel really good.

Fall Soup

I feel like I am welcoming in fall today by making really yummy soup.

Chilies, turmeric, coriander, carrot, yam, leak, onion, kale and chicken*  make up this fall soup with feta cheese scones on the side.

I am a little tentative in the kitchen as my husband, Dan, is a cook (it’s intimidating!), but soups are defiantly my safe area and something I love to make.

Not only am I welcoming in fall today but I am welcoming you to my blog. I hope you enjoy.

*I loosely referenced a recipe from Soup Kitchen called Root Soup with Cheese Scones (pg. 44). I highly recommend this book.
